Sofía Lozano sophie_lp — I don't know exactly what King was going for here. At the end, he throws out a dedication to a few people who supported his earlier work, so I'm guessing he was going on nostalgia? This thing reads like a really bad B-movie. Not in a good way. I could've done without the blatant and unnecessary plug for AT&T wireless internet. Also, all the mentioning of an ongoing series that he's working on (American Vampire) and a film adaptation from his previous work (Christine) was kind of distracting and pulled me out of the story. I don't know what I expected. I loved Blockade Billy (his short story I read last summer).. but this just bothered me way too much. Gah.

Chris Burgos chrisburgos — Really well done. Easy to go with pre-conceived notions- but all both points of view frequently well done. Braod choice of issues- role of women, role of orthodox in reform, G-d written or G-d inspired text, gay rights-- and more. worth reading more than once

Don't get me wrong: The story is great up until the ending! But, just like some of the other readers who commented here, I was hoping for a different outcome..

Bharat Gothwal bharatgothwal09 — The movie was much better than the book. The movies named was originally "Death Train" but was changed to "Detinator". MacLean died while writing this book. It was completed by his understudy. I think that is why we lose that Alistair MacLean flavor in the book.
