Re Moratto trendit — If you like travel literature, you're supposed to like Bruce Chatwin's In Patagonia, but I'm not sure why. It's not even non-fiction; Chatwin admitted that he invented parts of it. Clearly, the guy was well-educated and knew his way around the language, but that's not enough; it's just not enjoyable. It's stilted and clunky who knows what's real and what's not? I have a feeling that a lot of people (writers) endorse this book because they think they're supposed to. I know Pico Iyre doesn't like Bruce Chatwin's stuff, and I don't either.
