Michael Chezzi michael_chezzi_mua — i thought that this book started out really well but then the story began to slow down a bit for me having said this i still think that it was a good book. I was however left indecided about certain character espesially Will!!

This series is about a young girl who becomes involved in the Underground Railroad while living on her father's Mississippi River steamboat in the 1850s. It's the spring of 1857, and twelve-year-old Libby Norstad has been living on her father's steamboat, the Christina, for several weeks. Even though she has helped a group of runaway slaves escape, the cabin boy, Caleb, still doesn't trust Libby to help him with his work on the Underground Railroad. Libby has seen the horrors of slavery, and is determined to convince him that she can be trusted. Jordan, the runaway slave boy, is still living on the Christina, unwilling to go on to Canada until he can help the rest of his family escape, and Libby fears the cruel slave trader Riggs has boarded the Christina, looking for him. She is also worried about Elsa, a young German immigrant girl traveling on the Christina that Libby has befriended. Elsa's family doesn't have enough to eat, and Libby fears she is sick. Soon, Libby, Caleb, and Jordan are caught up in another dangerous adventure as they must travel through the woods with slave catchers on their trail. Readers who enjoyed the first book in the Riverboat Adventures are sure to like this one as well. I really like the setting of this series, a Mississippi River steamboat in the 1850s, and I enjoy the characters and the many historical details the author includes. The Riverboat Adventures is a good historical fiction series and I look forward to reading the next four books.

Mark Taylor, a former special operations spy with the group "Shadow Watchers", is now the chief of security at the Crossroads Crisis Center.He has done everything in his power to keep Lisa and her mother Annie safe, and somewhere along the way he started falling in love with Lisa. Because of his past he has always dreamed of being loved and wanted, not just needed. When he and his friends from the Shadow Watchers realize that Nina an organization they were working to bring down is involved in Dutch's plans, they plan on doing everything in their power to keep Lisa safe, while bringing down Nina. Can it be done? This book started out a bit slow for me, but one it got going it was a real thrill ride that had me on the edge of my seat on several occasions. The main characters in this story carry burdens from their past, but that doesn't stop them from having hope and faith in God. Lisa was an amazingly strong character, determined to take care of her mother. Mark carried blame for the death of his mother and his friend in Iraq, things that were out of his control, but he still felt responsible. The love story that unfolds between the two is touching and they fit so well together.The banter that went on between Mark's friends from the Shadow Watchers was often very funny, but also gave us a true look at the close bond between them. While this story is the second story in the Crossroads Crisis Center series it can easily be read as a stand alone work. If your a fan of christian suspense that draws you in with a great plot and characters that will keep you riveted to the story then you definitely should pick up this book! rating 5/5 Reviewed for Readersfavorite.com

Yan Hain hainian — Any one who is not scared of reading some gory stuff, its not that gory, but interesting to read. Especially if you like crime solving murders.

михаил гузев mischaguzee50d — I was surprised by the ending. It was hard for me to believe Tally cured herself though. This book was unsettling too, but I guess that is what the author intends. And why does everyone think there has to be a love triangle?
