Li Xing _egacy_ — This is the first book selected by my bookclub. Haven't read it yet, but have it if anyone wants to borrow.

Federico Roa federobofb7c — I really like Gabriel Garcia Marquez. There is something about the way in which he writes which, in the three books I've read by him (One hundred Years of Solitude, Love in the Time of Cholera, and Memories of My Melancholy Whores), take me away. I feel, after having read them, that I've been on some sort of emotional transformation and feel a sense of being cleansed. Anyway, he's a powerful writer.

Nagham Kamel _aghamk — The first half to two-thirds of the book was pretty boring for me. In general, I enjoyed the chapters told from the old man's perspective because they were more insightful and interesting than learning about life on the circus. The last part of the book really up-ed the stakes and drama ensued, which kept me interested. I chugged through the first part thinking "this is a 2-star book" and ended with a "this is a 4 star book" so I gave it my aggregated average rating.
