Lelah Bang gelaskacca79b2 — Not as good as the His Dark Materials stuff (and Sally is no Lyra), but still enjoyable. A murder mystery that takes place in 19th century England, it's obviously different from the fantasy stuff I'm more into right now, but still well written. As with lots of books (the Harry Potter ones come to mind), what I enjoyed most was just reading about the characters' everyday lives and conversations, etc.

Chloé Kast kastchloe — This is a fantastic horror/suspense book! The cover got me to buy this book, but the story totally lives up to the cover! I loved the diary entries between chapters. That was a cool way to mingle the past with the present without dedicating chapters of pre-story. I found myself crying, on the edge of my seat and scared out of my britches!!! Silla and Nicholas make a great team, their blood magic together is a force that the villian (Josephine) did not account for. This book had a great pace, moving from just discovering and dabbling with the magic to full on magical warfare. This is one book I will read again!
