Miguel Flores miguelgaydosh — Despite giving this book 3 stars, I really enjoyed it. The reason I gave it 3 stars is because I actually didn't finish it; after awhile the stories became a little repetitious. That being said, I really did enjoy the story and was engrossed in how people lived during WWII. I can't believe the courage that some of these people had! I think my generation could learn many things from these people who sacrificed so much for family, friends, and above all, country. While I was reading the book I couldn't help but compare many of the situations to modern day and how selfishness, lack of commitment, and lack of patriotism seem to loom in our society. There were many stories that I felt I could apply to my own life to make me a better person. I do look forward to sitting down one day to continue reading these stories. It is a good book to read while reading other books because it is filled with individual stories.
