Guga Alves gugaalves — ** spoiler alert ** This book was a Christmas gift to my son. We gobbled up this 550 page story. What an intriguing idea to have a story narrated by "Death". Taking us back to WWII and the perspective of a young girl in Germany during the time and devastation of war, the story reveals the perils of hiding the persecuted Jews and the unparalleled hardships on children of the day. This is a heart-wrenching tale that yanks us into the various life scenarios with an ironic vitality only Death could understand. We emerged with a sense of compassion we didn't know before. It honors the yearning of the human spirit to survive and thrive.

烟灰 墨 weedoo — One of Sophie's favorite books at the moment. Fun, happy, clever use of language.

Khushboo Ganglani khushganglani — i like his storytelling style. i didn't feel really compelled to read this book all at once- i sorta picked it up and put it back down- but it was always nice to return to.

Oliver Supp olivansupp — These Star Wars books are becoming a guilty pleasure - wish I'd started reading these when I was younger! Loved this. -Who thought light sabre battles would read so excitingly. Looking forward to reading book 3 in the trilogy. (SPOILER: But I do count now 3 times Darth Bane has flown to some far off planet, found an ancient temple and learned new stuff! No more!!)
