Alper Onk dralp340d30 — This book was slimmer and, therefore, a faster read than I was expecting, but I definitely enjoyed it. Some of the monologues really made me think for a very long time. My favorite quote: "One woman who was seventy-two had never even seen her vagina. She had only touched herself when she was washing in the shower, but never with conscious intention. She had never had an orgasm. At seventy-two she went into therapy, and with the encouragement of her therapist, she went home one afternoon by herself, lit some candles, took a bath, played some comforting music, and discovered her vagina. She said it took her over an hour, because she was arthritic by then, but when she finally found her clitoris, she said, she cried."

Khushboo Ganglani khushganglani — Noramlly, I shy away from romantic novels. I made an exception with Aimez vous Brahms , which follows an older woman who has finally left her cheating lover. She then takes up another lover, a younger man, who defies convention by loving her. Despite the romantic overtones, it really is more a study of an aging woman who tries to change her life, but sadly fails in the end. (I'm afraid they aren't selling any more copies of this book, though. I found mine by chance at Booksale and I haven't seen another copy since.) Like most of the books I've read, this too has been made into a movie starring Ingrid Bergman and Anthony Perkins (of Psycho fame) as the young lover. I haven't found a copy of that either.

Gina Rego ginarego0ffb — Wow. I wasn't sure at first, the languid tone and pacing meant I had to be in the right state of mind, but this is ridiculously good on so many levels. It's the kind of writing you need to get lost in the poetry of, yet doesn't distance you from the characters or the plot. Highly recommended!

Hendra Avogato _vogato — This book was mainly about my great-great-great grandmother Sarah Ann Franks and her trip from England to the Salt Lake valley. I really liked this book because it gave me a great appreciation for her story and the sacrifices that she made for the gospel. She was/is an amazing woman!!

Andrea Vilchez andreavilchez — One of the best books of our time. Long, complicated, beautiful.
