Justin Talbot justintalbot — Fortune gave me a big hug when Jerry Jenkins allowed me to review an advanced copy of The Betrayal. The story is full of love, intrigue, twisting plots, and of course betrayal. Jerry Jenkins does not disappoint his readers who appreciate his excellent writing style which moves the reader along the plot with clarity. In the opening scene Boone is a cop who is shot by throwing himself in front of a key witness. The reason it was so important for this witness to be eliminated sets the stage for the story. Boone is so self-reliant that I must admit, I wanted to jump into the first 50 pages and slap him. As you get further into the book you come to realize that he also represents truth, justice and reliability. The woman he loves is falsely accused and Boone’s single focus is to vindicate her of all charges. This, of course sets the stage for intrigue with an added love twist. If you enjoy a “hard to put down” story you will watch for the release of The Betrayal in September. Let me add a personal note, Jerry Jenkins is a Christian man and writer. His faith is apparent but in an everyday living way, not a sermon. I enjoy reading stories where I don’t have to worry about explicit sexual scenes and sailor blushing language on every page.
