Dangerous Ghost dangerousghost — I read this a while ago for my English class, and while I did enjoy it, I found it a little bit boring, and I did not really understand it at first. I couldn't really understand what it was about until the very end. However, I believe this book is an extremely high quality one, with an interesting spin on the time of apartheid in South Africa.

Christoffer Jacobsen christoffersj — Though the concepts in this book are old-hat to anyone who has been involved in the feminist movement for some time (at least, in the feminist circles I frequent), this is an excellent book for those less familiar with many of the sex-positive concepts of feminism. It was an enjoyable read even for someone to whom none of this is new information -- Valenti has a certain way of phrasing things that hits home.

Primitivists writing the closing thoughts on a fictionalized account of labor strike, anti-police brutality demonstration, a riot, a bombing and the legal aftermath and wrongful imprisonment and execution of anarchist labor oranizers... turns my stomach.

Wei Cai 882767330afe — This story is about French life under German occupation, and the author actually wrote this book during the German occupation of France in World War II. This would make for a really interesting story, except for the fact that Irene Nemirovsky died in a concentration camp in 1942. Suite Francaise was intented to be a three-part novel, but only the first two parts were actually finished. The last section is an appendix that consists of excerpts from the author's notebook where she makes shorthand notes about what she's planning to write in the third part of the novel. Unfortunately, we never actually get to read that part, making this an interesting but ultimately frustrating book.
