Karla Gonçalves _adah_ — Honestly loved this. I read it as a part of a compilation which included The Maltese Falcon and The Thin Man. Of the three Red Harvest was my favorite but don't get keen on it being a detective novel because it isn't. Sure there's a sleuth in it but this is the sort of Yojimbo sleuth who doesn't solve too many crimes that don't lead directly to more of them. It's definitely a noir action chronicle. But the lines and paragraphs are achingly good. Sentences that pivot on a dime as if being shadowed by something they can't quite make out, Chapters weighted down by their titles like concrete galoshes, Dialog ground through tight teeth and characters that are all gun toting caricatures better than anything Dick Tracy could have come up with. Simply gorgeous writing - if you like looking at perfectly worked stone or a worn out punching bag.

Adam Yu yucc9e94 — i loved this book! I read it twice. It was a beautiful story that kept my interest. I was a little confused when reading it the first time, i flipped back a few times. The second time i read it i understood it better.

Amanda Design amandadesign — Really nice story. Different because it's clear from the start that Elliot and Juliana are in love with each other. The story is centered about Elliot and how he's able to recover from the trauma in his past. I loved to see his blind trust for Juliana. He know she is his redemption and worships her for it. Juliana is a strong inteligent heroine. I loved how she handled her husband's issues. Numerous sexy scenes in this book as well as very romantic moments... all in all a very satisfying read.

Emil Tang uifire — Saw this at the UMich library, leafed through it. Looked intriguing. Some months later, checked it out from the UC library. It's a good book. A little bit loosely organized -- some parts feel like they were previously published as essays. Overall, it has the dual virtues of being short and meaty. I learned a lot, and it put a lot of things more sharply in focus.
