Simon Priestley simon_priestley — Maya Angelou has such a poetic writing style even while describing her arduous childhood to the reader. Every word moves you. The incredible challenges she faced and conquered during a time when blacks and women were considered obtuse and useless were remarkable to read. To see how she grew spiritually and cognitively during this time in her life was truly inspirational. Ms. Angelou is absolutely one TOUGH COOKIE!

Vladislav Kolpakov sameulgest — Only reason this book got 4/5 stars is the sort of disordered, jumping around in the beginning when Azoth was a boy that almost made me stop reading and question how good this book was going to be. 110% glad I stuck with it. Weeks is a master.

Angie Cárdenas angie_2003 — Great fictional story. After finishing it I was itching to read Charles Dickens. Excellent writing.

Albert Foo _lbert_oo — A quick read and a much-needed distraction, but a tad predictable. The terrorism angle was handled well, the characters reasonably interesting, but I like my investigators to be more conflicted and less sure of themselves.
