Yeo Jing jharuna — ** spoiler alert ** Finally, got around to finishing this series. I don't mind series because if I like the characters and the world the author created, it's fun to hang around for awhile. But series fatigue usually sets in for me after about 4 books. So me making it through 7 books in a series says something about the overall quality. And yes, overall it was a satisfying journey with a rollicking good finale. I could nitpick and question the disappearance of Ron and Hermione during the final battles. And personally, I don't think I needed the 19 years leap forward as Rowling could have saved that for some future return to Potter-land when she eventually goes back there. I would have chosen Luna over Ginny for Harry but that's my own take on the characters. The book put all the pieces of the puzzle together with much revealed about Dumbledore and Snape's role that made me think about what I had read previously. I now look forward to the movies based on this book and see how its translated onto the big screen. And maybe, one day, a trip to Universal Studios in Florida to visit the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. I guess you never really say goodbye to Harry Potter.

Miz Moxie _dreamofco4f54 — 3.5 stars I liked the story line of this book, I liked the pace and I liked the characters for the most part. I don't get why Harkness has to go on for so long in seemingly pointless portions of the story, and the action happens so quickly. I think the romance is a little cheesy as well, which is saying something because I'm a sucker for romance. However, I enjoyed figuring out more about Diana's power, and I was intrigued by the strong female characters in the book. I especially liked the last quarter of the book when Diana came back to the US. I am excited to read the next book, but don't think much will be resolved yet. ** upon second reading, I stick to my first review. ** finally reading the whole series and couldn't remember this one.

Rakan Malkawi rakanmalka2377 — First things first: let's give props to one of my least favorite Gossip Girl characters who has, in her new incarnation, become a girl that I actually like and am interested in. Sending Jenny Humphrey to boarding school at Waverly Academy has made for a pretty good start to what I think could be an excellent spin-off series. While the Gossip Girl world is filled with a whole lot of crazy and has a fairly detached feeling overall, The It Girl takes us a step further by getting away from the crazy trust fund princess types and giving us people from different backgrounds (albeit highly privileged ones) who seem to have more complicated issues driving their development. I'm curious to see how the rest of the story plays out, especially given the somewhat cliffhanger/suspenseful ending we're left with.
