Jehn Hen infinitetiny — Such a fun Thanksgiving Day book for children. This edition (Harper Collins 1993), with illustrations by Nadine Bernard Westcott, has just the right feel and flavor. While the family is driving to grandfather's house, the grandparents are busy preparing the Thanksgiving meal in their home. There are little peeks of humor on every page, and all the trimmings, from the snow and the ice skating, to the pumpkin pie and the turkey are there to remind a child of all the pleasures that surround that time of year ... The illustrations really celebrate the ritual of being together as a family. The last page spread has the musical setting of the song and all three verses. This would be a great purchase to keep at a grandparent's house, to read to the little ones all through the fall.

Christine Dorrance christinedd51e — This started out really slow for me, but once I got into Paddy's voice, I couldn't put it down. Funny and heartbreaking!

Enrico Battaglia enrigo1f36e — If you haven't read Carl Sandburg, do so. Known primarily as a poet, his historical works are poetry in and of themselves. Here is a sampling of this work about the life of Mary Todd Lincoln--"Tragedy works in shadows, often dealing with a borderline of dark fate where neither the doctors nor lawyers can tell just what is happening".

Augus Wu 102308749649e0 — I thought this book was actually pretty good. I understood going in that since it's a war, you were going to lose a lot of people. But a lot of those deaths still hurt when they hit. And messed-up Peeta made such a stark contrast to the Peeta in the first two books. But I think that in this world, it was inevitable that he would be hardened. Really it's a wonder it hadn't happened earlier. The only real problem I had with this book was Katniss' decision in the voting for another Hunger Games. I just don't know that she would be so messed up over Prim's death that she would sacrifice children. The leaders of the Capitol, yes. But not their kids. I'm glad she ended up with Peeta.
