Hung Nguyen hungnv99814d95 — Ehrenreich really tries to find out what it is like to be a minimum wage worker in America, but she never abandons her white or upper-class privilege, so the whole book comes off as hypocritical (not to mention the fact that in writing this book she actually takes jobs from people who need them. She also attempts to organize a union, something that puts her "co-workers" at risk of firing--but of course she's safe. And her hatred of people who employ housekeepers is sort of astoundingly dense. Please, don't read this book. Try actually talking to people who work for minimum wage.

I would benefit from a study group session on holy fools [I believe Jesus is said to be one, and St Francis another:]; quite an interesting topic. And one gets a glimpse of the homeless scene and the people who may get themselves in that situation.
