Svetlana Pototskaia _vetulia — We got some great tips on how to be money-smart. It was definitely an eye-opener as to how carelessly Americans spend their money. I was more than a little shocked. It was also comforting to know that these concepts have been taught by living prophets for years and years. I think with the way the economy is, people are starting to GET IT more and more. Great book!

Raul Alejandro alejandrod5a0a — First, I LOVED the sheep characters and their application of sheepy logic to the human world. Loved their names, too. As someone who enjoys novels like WATERSHIP DOWN and WARRIORS, I thought their way of thinking and relationships to each other were superbly thought out and delightful to read. But as an actual mystery novel, I found it disappointing. I still don't feel like I knew "whodunnit" in one aspect of the story (or even the "why" of another aspect), or the background story running through a lot of it. Instead, the author seemed more interesting in trying to make transcendent moments. The translation seemed solid (though I'd be curious to get my hands on a German language version -- "Glennkill: Ein Schafskrimi"), so I think this deficiency must have been there in the source material--not lost in translation. She's published a sequel in German ("Garou: Ein Schaf-Thriller" -- "Garou: A Sheep Thriller"), and I look forward to reading that when it's translated!

Christine Hummell rawbbit — I'm actually surprised I didn't abandon this one. It was just too strange. I kept reading thinking I was eventually going to get into it. It did have some interesting points being the setting was in Calcutta. I am reading Modoc which takes place in the jungles of India. Quite the contrast.

Antonio F antonioftorres — a good fast read. Fun to have around for a beach weekend or sometime when you want a slightly rediculous tale spun for you. The dialogue is not as Allende's best, but the swashbuckling story mostly makes up for it.
