Needzagency Needzagency needzagency — Owen, Frank, Audrey, and Jin-Ae meet online while discussing their suicide attempts. The four bond quickly and start chatting on a regular basis and end up forming a pact. They will meet, take a road trip to visit the graves of celebrities that have committed suicide, and end their trip and their lives, together, in Death Valley. The story sounded very promising and as a reader I was expecting the raw emotions of a book like IMPULSE by Ellen Hopkins, but instead it just came across as a little silly. The characters didn’t really ring true. A few important aspects, which could have used some discussion, about Audrey and Owen are left completely hanging and the conflicts in the story are too quickly resolved and leave the reader unsatisfied in the end.

Welber Ribeiro welberolivier — Very, very Canadian in all ways. Such an entertaining read - a great escape but also a confirmation of life's unexpected, unanticipated, change in an instant capacity. In this book I would argue it is for the better. It is highly readable by any citizen. The content, the message, if any, and there is one, beckons engagement beyond a shallow read to interact perhaps with a witty, value critical, subtle excavation of morality. A tug of war is ragged of what is right in the short or longer term for immediate or greater gains. Oh tis life you say but it is also a nations life drilled down to the region and the personal, therefore the private and the personal, the public and the shared. Picking up the sequal asap which I suspect takes us deeper into the meadow of muffins in politics.

Danya Volkov dvolkov — more than half way through. If I were to summarize the story so far - well, just suffice it to say, I am only reading to the end to discover "why" Ms Naslund chose to write about this at all. 3.5.11 10:30pm - FINALLY finished this book! UGH! have no clue.....
