Katrine Winding _ick_cat — I had been vacillating over buying this book for a while. Many of the recipes seemed too familiar (scrambled tofu, a lot with seitan). But when I tried my first cupcakes from Vegan Cupcakes Take Over the World, I knew that Moskowitz was on to something. The recipes included here are clean and memorable and, better yet, are simple enough that, while they may be good enough for company, are not so involved that you can't be bothered with them unless company is expected.

Ertug Tugalan tugalanertug — The Star of Kazan by Eva Ibbotson is a young adult novel. The first chapter was excellent and pulled me right in, but I found the following few chapters a bit lacking. They all served a purpose but I felt it took too long to get to the point and my attention started to wonder. However, once the ’set up’ was over and the real story began, I was drawn back into the characters and was held tight.

Muhammad Taha socialfollowerz — Matched By Allie Condie kept me enticed the whole way through. Cassia, the main character, has just turned 17 and will be receiving her "match" this year, which is the guy the Officials have chosen to become her future husband. Cassia lives in a world that has shortened the basic history and all its nonsense by replacing it with the "one hundreds." The one hundred best poems, history lessons, songs, ect. The Officials decide everything from the meal you receive each night for dinner to the future you will have in society and soon Cassia begins to question everything she has learned. The futuristic aspect was intriguing and the characters were easy to relate to. For fans of Suzanne Collin's Hunger Games trilogy or Scott Westerfeld's Uglies trilogy this is a must have for your bookshelf. Allie Condie grabs your attention from page one and will keep you reading well past the midnight hour and into the morning. The book had me so entranced I read half of it in one day and by the end of it I was craving the sequel, which will be released November 2011. I am looking forward to the trilogy and can't hardly wait to see what she comes out with next!
