Dora And worldpollination — Wasn't a big fan, although almost every lady in my book club liked it. I found it extremely contrived and frankly rather boring. I guess I enjoyed the "britishness" of it as another reviewer was saying, but there were too many characters, their introductions were way too long and didn't make me care about them, and who needs a page long description of the inside of each person's cottage? They were obvious anyhow.

Michael Chezzi michael_chezzi_mua — As far as a tell all memoir goes, this book falls into the category of "pretty okay"-- as far as being a good examination of women in the sex industry, I think that there is something nauseous about the read. Her insider status on stripping and peepshows makes for interesting fodder, but there is something that is missing altogether. She writes with her signature style of kitsch, but there is something to be desired. In one place near the end she discusses the fact that she was never raped or molested, making her entree into the stripping world mysterious. She notes that as a child she wasn't attractive enough to get raped as a kid, which is really really disturbing. I would have liked her book had it not been for that little piece of commentary that made me want to barf.

Maria S sedykh — I had already read this one as a teenager and all I remember was the first chapter. It's a great holiday read, but I was surprised at the weakness of the plot. It is possible to write comedy with better plots, as others like Pratchett and, in a way, Neil Gaiman, have proved. But then, I don't think there would have been a Pratchett at all (or a funny Gaiman) without Adams first.

Megan Russell _llustration — This is a good guide for Christian parents. I got alot out of it.

Matthew Grandin mattgrandin — Okay, so he had me at Macallan, but all things considered, this was my favorite read of the year so far -- DESPITE the werewolves, vampires, and the overload of sex, violence, and ridiculous vocabulary. Jake is a fantastically entertaining narrator, willing to look straight at the darkest parts of life and himself and call them like he sees them.
