Logan Wolvy _olvy — Tommy and Tuppence teamed up and started off quite well. Best part is how they understand there know their feelings for each other and plan on marriage in the end.

Nongnapat Pathuriyawett bim1992 — After 200 pages I had to put it down. I just found it boring. The writing was fine. I guess I just wanted Julie to get on her with life faster than she did.

Vinod Kumar vinodachary — Despite the fact that I hate foreshadowing as a storytelling device, this book kept me engrossed from start to finish (and trust me, there was loads of foreshadowing here). There was so much story in one book, and I was impressed - this was proper epic fantasy, with emphasis on the epic. I enjoyed the Colendi setting - the world-building was beautifully done, and contrasted nicely with the more familiar Marloven world from Ms Smith's previous books. Having said that, the large cast of characters encountered over the period of the story made me struggle to remember who was who at times. And the ending did not work for me - I'm keeping it vague but within spoiler tags just in case (view spoiler). So a really strong story for the first 3/4s, but let down by a somewhat weaker ending.
