김 예진 zziiiny — Anthologies are often tricky for me to rate, and this one is no exception. Some of the stories were awesome and some weren't. Most of the stories grew up organically around the premise of Gilgamesh's immortal bar, but there were a few that gave the distinct impression of being half written before the idea for this anthology and the immortal bar was thrown in ex post facto. This volume is definitely worth reading and it introduced me to a few authors that I'd like to check out in the future, as well as warned me off from a few that I don't think I'll enjoy. Mostly I read this book because I knew Maria V. Snyder had a story in it and it was available through Kobo to put on the ereader I got for Christmas.

Iriam Salazar iriam54 — I'm honestly having a hard time gathering all my thoughts about this sixth and final installment. So let's see... Evermore was truly wonderful; Blue Moon was mind-blowing; Shadowland was quite good; Dark Flame became an effort to press on; Night Star was even more annoying; and having read this long series of books, Everlasting was at least dragged somewhere in the middle of everything. I have to say that the "antidote thing" has been the major conflict that's been told in almost all of the books, and its repetitiveness became really annoying. But then, I initially felt like I have not much of a choice but to finish this series, but finally, it has come to an end in a satisfying way. On the beef side of things, I think the protagonist/s of a book shouldn't be the cause of its distaste. Ever has obviously gone into an inconsiderable path of life, and she tends to get really annoying because of the stupid decisions she make. I tried to resist her for a long time, but still having a small amount of hope that she'll take a turning point in her life. The love triangle between Ever, Damen and Jude isn't also as effective as I thought it would be, and now I'm coming up to a conclusion that only a FEW love triangles has really gotten for the best. It's also been blatantly obvious who Ever ends up with, and it's not disappointing. However, Ever's journey throughout seemed to be old-fashioned and fasten up, so things don't get surprising because I kinda guessed that she'll go through it. On my optimistic view, obviously there are a few other matters that are to be revealed, and when the real past of Ever and Damen was merely uncovered, it was surprisingly engaging and enjoyable. The revelations are mind-blowing, and I commend Noel for creatively putting up a concept with a great deal of fashion and originality. And Ever, having taken a big step forward of being a grown, mature being over the course of everything, I'm so glad that finally she has gotten herself in the right path and perception. I have also cited unpredictable scenes which are good and enough to keep me reading until the end. So, I'm giving it 4 stars minus all my negative thoughts, but despite all of them, I believe this is an amazing way to end the book. Now I'm feeling like though I tend to hate it sometimes, I will definitely miss it. Everything is wrapped up in an astounding way!
