Mariana Hernandez mhndzgm4b71 — I'm probably one of the few people to read this book and (a) mellow out my ultraconservationist views, and (b) keep thinking "deep sh*t" every time i thought of the title and not really get that "deep economy" actually means an economy that includes social awareness and, well, depth. In short, I'm part of the choir. I didn't find anything new in this book, other than an argument that we can start changing our energy intensive ways by making easy changes drawn from international examples.

Masatatsu Shibata officeshibachan — My heart was full of sarcasm when I grabbed this off the bookstore shelf. Just what the world needs, more self-help books about love! But, as I skimmed through it, I realized it was actually a completely interesting peak into the neuroscience of the mind, and how that connects to all of our emotions. I took it home, and couldn't put it down. What I appreciate most about this book is that it validates, through science and our own biochemistry, that love and relationships not only matter, but are one of our most basic and essential needs as humans. The authors also openly argue against the very American norms of stoic independence and materialistic happiness.
