Elodie Pai elodie_pai — Going into this book, all I knew about Madame Tussaud is that there are wax museums by that name. I had no idea that the real Madame Tussaud was a fairly well-known figure in revolutionary and pre-revolutionary France. She spanned the gulf of royalist, teaching wax figure making to the king's sister, and revolutionary, hosting many of the best known leaders of the age. She made death masks of many killed during the terror, including the king and queen, after their executions. While some details are of course fictionalized for this story, the entirety of Marie's life was quite interesting to me.

Joong Sun designerwee — One of the volumes of Arthur Conan Doyle's diary is missing, and questions about why he "killed" Sherlock Holmes and later brought him back to life would have been answered by the missing book along with information about Doyle's last few months. Based on a true account of a member of the Sherlockian Society, this is a good read for those who enjoy the original Sherlock Holmes stories.
