Paula Vance shakeandurban — Overall, an easy and somewhat entertaining book. I understand it's the first in a series, so that would explain why exposition is throughout the book. The main character is interesting, and her descriptions of ex-boyfriends are funny. However, the character of the precocious child/tween/teen (Rae) has been done ad nauseum in books. Rae adds nothing to this book except as an annoying pain in the @$$. I think the author was going for a "wow, what a rebellious and assertive young lady" reaction, but mine was more like "stop being a brat." Too bad a lot of the plot centered around her.
