Claudio De _laudiodeluca — I liked this book, but unfortunately I didn't find it as entertaining as I wanted to, and I think that might be due to the fact that the book is written for a younger audience. I liked the plot and most of the characters, but the story never quite captured me. Apart from the beginning and the end, which I liked a lot, the story dragged out and for long periods it felt like nothing was happening. That being said, I do want to read the rest of the books in the series at some point, especially now that Septimus Heap has been found. I thought he was one of the best characters in the book.

Sometimes reading like the best fiction ever, other times like a historical textbook with a decided point of view, the book never ceased to surprise me with its insight. I can't wait to re-read this in a decade or two: it's relevant to me, my life, my world today and I'm sure it will be then as well.
