Made all the more entertaining by the fact that a twelve page signature was inserted into the book upside down, so when you get to page 60, you have to turn the book upside down until you get to page 73, when you turn it right side too again. How very handmade. I think I like it that way.

Francesca Semenza francescasemenza — I like Sarah Dessen's style. I like how she writes teenagers. I love these covers, with the bright colors against the dark background and whatnot. It's really cool. That being said, this novel just failed to deliver. Not because there wasn't a single likeable character in this book, although I was very annoyed with most of them. Haven was pretty much surrounded by selfish jerks and assholes throughout the whole time, and I couldn't blame her for one minute for being angry with the world as a whole. No, my problem with this novel was the fact that it felt so pointless. There was little to no plot, no buildup, not even a decent resolution. So she blows up? Big surprise there. She realizes that Sumner wasn't the person she wants him to be? Ok. Then what? What will she do once she comes to that realization? We never know.
