Hector Meza saintocamus — This has been on a few Newbery lists, and although this isn't my pick I can see why it was included. Elise, raised by her Aunt and Uncle after her parents died when she was young, is turning 12 and coming to realize the changes in her life and friendships that come with getting older, and going to middle school. Her best friend, Franklin, is a bit different; when Elise starts to get teased at school for being his friend she begins to make some unfortunate mistakes. However, with the discovery of eight keys--and the mysteries they unlock--she begins to learn more about herself and the person she wants to become.

Dôctör Closïng _octor_losing — I often wish there was a 1/2 in the star option, so this could be 3 1/2 stars. Enjoyable book. Pro-Richard III, but not rabidly so. For 5 star, pro-Ricardian, sheer Wars of the Roses rabid bliss, nothing ever beats Sharon Kay Penman's 'The Sunne in Splendour'. But this was unique in that it focused more on Richard & Anne Neville's childhood together at Middleham Castle - a very atmospheric ruin on the Yorkshire Moors even today.

Firefish Design firefishdesign — A goodreads first reads win! This was the type of book I needed to read right now. It's a Christian Romance. Hailee was a wonderful character and one I could relate to easily. While life hadn't been easy for her- she continued forward with hope. Feel good, uplifting read. Very enjoyable.

Paul Labban paulabban — This book was on display at the Lakeside branch with a favorable endorsement. It's a crime novel involving Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and an Indian named George Edilaj who is accused (wrongly) of a crime. I returned it without finishing it. If it gets better, it does so too slowly for me.

Matheus Lucas tiupateuzoce4f — slow to get into, but funny and sad at the same time. ended somewhat abruptly for my taste though. no real conclusion to speak of. fun though.

Rebecca C iamrebeccaclark — I expected a book by the father of a meth addict to be either whiney (poor me) or preachy (drugs are bad) but this book was neither. The author wrote of the love of his son and how drug use damaged their lives.
