Carolina Matias carolinama61a3 — I admit, I didn't really start to like this book until the halfway point. After that, I couldn't stop reading it. I loved Oskar and his interactions with the other characters throughout the book. Very emotional and moving.

Julian Gomez jhuliangomez — Warning: This review contains major spoilers and may be beneficial to you. Bloodrose was an addictive, exciting, and amazing 2012 read! I have to say Andrea Cremer creates and wrote the last book exceptionally well with amazing, memorable action, unforgettable characters, and emotions. I have previously love the previous books of Nightshade and was looking forward to Bloodrose since my disappointment with the ending of Wolfsbane. Bloodrose was such an amazing and a captivating read and I didn't wanted to leave the world that Andrea Cremer wrote. It was indeed so memorable and so touching. Well, readers who have read the previous books will enjoy the final book of the Nightshade trilogy. I love the dashing and heartpounding adventures that the characters face in the story. The adventures with the elements and the final battle to defeat Bosque were simply wrote well in vivid details. I didn't really like Calla in the third book, to be honest. She knows that two guys love her and want her to be his mate, but she still didn't make a decision to choose any of them even though she did already. At first, she kiss and makes out with Ren in the beginning of the book, then she kiss Shay and sleeps with Shay. I mean what was that?! She said that she didn't make a decision to choose them, but I can see that she already did by sleeping with Shay. By then, I know Calla is going to choose Shay. Calla is not a really good character and I found myself disliking her more and more in this one. As well for the romance, I actually like it a little bit. I don't like the love triangle that Andrea Cremer creates for us readers. I must confessed that I really like Ren more than Shay. He has a strong personality and is more appealing and more charming than Shay. He deeply cares for her and will stands by her side and protect her until the very end. It's really sad to see how vulnerable he became with Calla. I also must say that Shay has really developed throughout the book. He was not the shy, fearful character that he was before. Shay was a mighty, fierce warrior who actually cared for Calla and will be there for her forever.(But there is something about Shay that I don't like. I don't know, but maybe his jealous, mean attitude to Ren? I really don't like how Cremer potrayed Shay. I mean he is fierce and sometimes kind in the book, but other than that, his jealous, possessive attitude towards to Ren is infuriating to me) I really don't like how this book turns out. I was very disappointed how Ren died in the end of the book. It was so devastating, touching, and heartbreaking to see Ren died. Many people on Goodreads that I know of are rooting for Ren and hoped that Ren will be with Calla forever, but sorry readers, that's not going to happen. I can see now that many readers will be disappointed with how the final book turns out. I really wonder why the author made the beloved and most respected love interest to die a fatal attack. I mean it is very pitiful and heartbreaking to read that dying scene and how Calla had to go through of. I really feel for her. I really do. ;( Now that the author had killed the love triangle, I now know that Calla will be with Shay. After reading the whole entire series, I am starting to have mixed feelings on it. I actually like the series, but I am not sure about it right now. I didn't like how this book turns out, but I am willing to give this book four stars for its engaging plot and how the writer potrayed such devastating emotions to make the readers feel. I can see that some of the characters had developed into stronger warriors. I like seeing the characters have their own, special happy endings. Connor and Adne ended up being together and Sabine and Ethan were together in the end. The happy ending made me content that my favorite characters will turn out just fine and will have possibilities in the future. It was well written and good to see how the final book of the Nightshade trilogy turns out.

Nathan Ramsay nathan9a43 — What a great read! The book's setting is Tokyo in the 1890's, during the Meiji regime, when the current emperor was trying to Westernize Japan. As a result, samurais were ordered to lay down their swords and abandon samurai code. Toyo is the son of a samurai and torn between his father's samurai culture and the new Western cultural practices that Japan has adopted, including baseball. The opening chapter, during which Toyo must participate in his uncle's suppuku is riveting. Toyo does not want to be samurai, but his father teaches him bushido--the code of the samurai--which Toyo adapts to help him hone his skills in baseball. A showdown game between Toyo's school team and an American team ends the story with a bang.

Hazem Daher hazemdaher — Enjoyed some of the stories more than others. Either way, "The Best American Series" is a new favorite.

周 依 heroyi — Quick and easy read...much better than first. Keeps me interested enough to definitely keep reading the rest of the series.
