Buse Aydın buseaydin — I absolutely LOVED this book! The writing and story had me from the word go! I honestly had a hard time putting the book down. And Reyes, o.m.g.! He is definitely one of my top 5 para-rom heart throbs! Everyone who enjoys the para-rom genre should definitely read this book :) aw who am I kidding, you should read the whole series! Showalter is just simply an amazing writer and I cannot wait to dig into the rest of the series.

Rajeev Kumar rock1234 — This was a good ending to the story begun in Daughter of Fortune. Allende is wonderful at embedding her stories in accurate historical context which she did once again with Portrait in Sepia. Because of Allende's talents this book read like an autobiography/memoir rather than a mere novel. She was able to make the characters come truly alive so that I felt as if I were really reading Aurora's diaries/memoirs. The one disappointment: so much was left to the last 20-30 pages that I would like to have seen developed more----maybe that's for the next installment, making it a trilogy?
