Jeremy Holmes jeremy345d — I think that this is one of the better novels written by Jodi Picoult. Like many of her books, this one is based on the true story of a middle-aged woman who decides to conceive a baby for the sole purpose of providing life saving genetic material for an older child stricken with a rare cancer. The moral dilemmas are nuanced and well-developed and the outcome is not one which the reader could have predicted.

Ewa Kubasik ewakubasik874b — This is one of my all-time favorite books, and probably my favorite Clive Barker read, just barely edging out its hefty competition ("Great and Secret Show" of course). I read this book in one day and savored every moment of it. The story is that a young boy is bored on a lazy afternoon, so hestarts seeking out an adventure in a strange house surrounded in mystery and intrigue, and finds himself in a nightmare. He quickly discovers that though he can have anything he desires there, he can't leave, and time moves differently there. Surrounded by monsters and lost souls, this is one of the best twisted fairytales one can find! If you like the original Grimm Fairy Tales (not the Disney-fied versions) and enjoy a good page turner, this is definitely the book for you.
