Evgeny Domantsevich qw8450wpd961 — Alice Hoffman does a wonderful job of weaving a story that traces a town from it's beginning to the present. She follows the descendants of the original families, choosing one or two people from each time period to focus on. Each chapter is a different person's story, from a different decade. I love Hoffman's incorporation of supernatural details and just enough description so that you can feel like you're there. She does an excellent job tying the characters and other elements together over time. I've always been a fan of Hoffman's writing style, and this book doesn't disappoint. She makes her characters believable and creates such a beautiful setting for her story. I highly recommend!

Brianna Vaughn bvaughndesign — Michael J Fox's first book was his autobiography. He talked about his family and childhood and rise to fame. His second book started from the time he ended Spin City until now. He talked about his Parkinson's Foundation and the progression of his disease and his wife and four children. I think it was a wonderful book and really showed how brave his is living with this disease and what kind of impact he can make.

Aleksandar Velinov _3nd3r_an — This book was riveting to me. It is a true story, and is written by a woman who is not a writer, so don't expect it to be a literary marvel. But the details she reveals about life in Saudi Arabia was eye-opening to me. I am not very familiar with the culture in the Middle East, and this book really detailed why the culture is defined by the Islam religion, and why it makes people do what they do there. The author married a half-brother of Osama bin Ladin, and she describes a little about him and his personality. She was Swiss-born, and moved to Saudi Arabia after she married her husband, Yeslam. So as an outsider looking in, the culture there was foreign to her. Her struggle to live as a Westerner fell flat on it's face, and she had to submit to the customs of the country. There is a range of emotions present in this book, and the fact that it is a true story made it even more interesting.
