Bryam Calderon romainruiz8872 — This was recommended to me by a reader friend when we started talking about our love of utopian novels. It was great. I stayed up until 2:30 AM reading and promptly finished the book in two days. It is a YA novel that is set in a version of the USA which is split into districts. The districts are led (and controlled) by the Capitol. To remind the citizens that the capital has all the power, each year a young girl and boy are selected by a lotto system to compete in the Hunger Games-a gladiator fight to the death in an arena. Like a reality television show, the games are broadcast to the districts. It sounds like a weird scenerio but trust me, it's worth the read. It's the first in a triology and my friend lent me number 2 and 3 at dinner last night. She said they are not as good but I'm dying to curl up this weekend and dive into them! Read this if: you like dystopian novels you like reading YA books (teen romance is a plot point although not in a typical way)
