The illustrations are simple yet full of adorable detail. I love the facial expression on the cat's face when he looks at the boy like, "didn't you hear me?"

While reading the story, you can feel the pain the protagonist(Santiago)is put through, and the high sense of determination that he possesses. After eighty-four successive days without catching a fish, Santiago promises his former assistant Manolin that he will go “far out” into the ocean. The marlin takes the bait, but Santiago is unable to reel him in, which leads to a three-day struggle between the fisherman and the fish Quotation from the novel: 1.You did not kill the fish only to keep alive and to sell for food, he thought. You killed him for pride and because you are a fisherman. You loved him when he was alive and you loved him after. If you love him, it is not a sin to kill him. Or is it more?

Neuschweizer Willy neuschweiz — Twelve-year-old Julie Weiss is the daughter of a wealthy Jewish couple in 1938 Vienna. She has a comfortable life, until Hitler's army invades Austria. Her family is the target of violence, and her mother sinks into depression, eventually commiting suicide. In spite of the bleakness of the first half the book, there is hope in the second half. Julie's father, desperate for her safety, arranges for her to go to New York City to live with her aunt and uncle, but decides to stay behind and help others. She is full of loneliness and despair at first, but finds comfort in her relatives and in a new career in acting.

Century Suplemen centurysup2089 — I am working on reading the entire Spenser series. The last few were a bit dull but A Catskill Eagle was action packed and suspenseful. Enjoyed it!

Bought this book on impulse and yes it is one heck of a very handy book to have around. It does answer alot of allergy related questions one would like to ask, for example, how it could happen or how we can avoid it, or what triggers it and so on. Nevertheless it is an interesting informative read. If you have allergies.. or know somebody who have them, should read this book as well. Examples of questions available in the book: ♠ What is an allergy blood test? ♠ Which herbal products will help my nasal allergies? ♠ Will I be able to breast-feed my child while I am taking allergy medications? ♠ What is sinusitis, and how it related to allergies? ♠ What is Lactose intolerance? ♠ Can food allergies cause heartburn? etc….
