李 连晶 a3976987888980 — Very good, probably my favorite John Grisham so far. It's not his normal style. It tells the story of a 7yr old boy growing up in a small town in Arkansas. It's a interesting look into the social structure and rural post WWII life in that region, while at the same time being just a thoughtful tale of a young boy's childhood. Think "Of Mice & Men" meets "To Kill a Mockingbird" meets "Huck Finn". Quick light, but entertaining read

Christopher Espinoza _rizttof27 — I did not finish this book. After the first 5 CD's the plot was so slow in developing and the diversions so long, I got bored. The story had great potential, but it was way to long in developing.

Juan Manuel mostrosarra — Loved this book took me forever to read it because of time, but glad I hung in there. What I found interesting was I have family that lives in the area of South Carolina this took place in. Those books are always a lot of fun to read. Would recomend this book to anyone.

Ian Jones _onsense_rophet — I thought this would be a great picture book for my Holocaust unit (supplement to Anne Frank, or to use for their WWII research papers), but the writing was nothing remarkable, and I wasn't even moved as much as the story should have moved me. It seemed incomplete, rough, and a little fragmented. It left me with many questions and utterly unsatisfied. I did learn about aspects of the Holocaust that I hadn't known before (minimal), but not enough to suggest that my students read the whole thing when there are better books that cover the same topics. I feel really bad, as always, criticizing a memoir that expresses pain or recounts a traumatic experience, but I just wasn't brought into the character's feelings and experiences in a way that was transformative. Sorry. :(
