Mariana Hernandez mhndzgm4b71 — "The No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency" by Alexander McCall Smith has been sitting on my bookshelf gathering dust for quite a while. I just kept buying new books and this one was overlooked. Well, finally I was re-arranging the bookshelf and stumbled upon it and decided to give it a go. Wow!!!! What a fun and unexpected read. This story of the only woman detective in Botswana is genuine and heartfelt. It's filled with daily life in Botswana mixed with the variety of mysteries that MMa Ramotswe must solve. This book isn't as fast-paced and full of bone-chilling thrills as most mystery books are these days. And that is exactly why I liked it! I loved the breezy lay-back feel to it. I will for sure be reading more of this series!!!! I was impressed!

Tomas Duchek dusint — I read this book in fifth grade and have loved it ever since. If you've seen M. Night Shamalan's The Village, this book is pretty much that movie, only better and the original.
