Stephanie Swain stephanieswainmua — Before she went crazy, Robin McKinley wrote some of the most awesome young adult fantasy out there. Her heroines were smart and plucky, with a bit of tasty pathos to keep things interesting. Aerin, the main character of HATC, is a dragon-slayer in training, while remaining decidedly introverted and bookish and not quite the most coordinated chick in town. She also has a love triangle (with SEX!)involving her second cousin and an immortal wizard dude. Needless to say, she was quite the hero for me in grammar school. I still hold out hope that a film will be made of this book.

Leland Nelson nelsonlela04f5 — While the book states that scientology is not a religion, it sure seems like one. I gave up on reading this book after about two chapters because it did not make sense to me. Also, the writing style is very repetitive, almost to the point of attempted brainwashing. I know some people think Scientology is a crazy religion, with crazy practices...but is it really any different than any other organized religion? As a book, "Scientology" is cyclical and repetitive, but I think that's the point. As an idea, it's not my style, but if it works for others - great.

Andrey Volinets _ndrey_olinets — Knowing Holly pretty well before I bought her book made this autobiography/collection of published piecesall the more interesting. Reading it, I felt like I was back in her classroom and listening to a revealing lecture. It made me miss her a heck of a lot. Also, I enjoyed taking the book into public places and letting strangers see the cover.
