Chelle Clancy chellegatmania — This book surprised me. I'd heard a lot about it, but a story about a boy on a liferaft with a tiger didn't sound all that interesting to me. I usually prefer books with a lot of human interaction. However, this was really interesting. Very well-written without going over the top in flower-y language and a totally unique story. I kept wanting to find out what happened next and there were moments that were surprisingly hilarious. This would make an excellent book club book.

Kaitlyn Adair _aitlyn_dair — Blind, uncontrollable obsession haunts this book, but the bondage within is not the modern S&M connotations of the word- it is something much deeper and more sinister, a part of daily life.

Yang Liu 1065866406ffc9 — A Great and Terrible Beauty was a book genre I don't often read. Apart from The Infernal Devices I normally read books taking place in the present. It started off really great, but then it just became worse and worse if you ask me. I can't grasp how Gemma, Pippa, Ann and Felicity can be so stupid and naive. You'd think they were 6 and not 16. I had hoped for a little more romance, but hopefully it'll come in the next novels. Nevertheless the book was great and I loved the language.

Huizi Li _elicia_i — Not as much humor, but still has lots of excitement.

Adrien Perrier aperrier — Elizabeth George never disappoints! The aristocratic Lynley returns to work, still damaged after the death of his wife and unborn child. There's a new boss to contend with and she's not without her own secrets and personal problems. A young woman's body is found - a mortal wound to her neck. Of course there are a number of strange people in her life but one question seems to be at the core of her life - why did she abruptly leave the small community where she'd grown up and run off to London? Reading a book by Elizabeth George is like making a trip to England and visiting old friends. Her books take you to pubs and museums and small towns and inside the homes of interesting people you'd never have the opportunity to meet.
