Larry Bowers lbowers — Definitely my favorite book we read in Contemporary Spanish-American Literature. It was fairly easy to read and contained beautiful descriptions of the Peruvian landscape.

Uira Nao uira1c16 — Like Aimee Buckner, I have often been frustrated with the poor quality of my students' reading response entries. Aimee provides practical solutions for teaching students how to respond and provides rubrics, lesson plan ideas, and reflections to use with students. I do not always agree with her approach, for example, I do not grade students' grammar, spelling, etc. when assessing response entries (perhaps I should). I will need to tweak some of her ideas to make them work with my philosophy about teaching reading, but isn't this what all teachers do? Take someone else's kernel of an idea and make it our own? Ian Macgregor ianmacgregor — I can't remember the last time I had this much fun reading a book. Can't wait for Eclipse to come out. Usually, I reserve five stars for classic or philosophical literature that I love, but I think I have to give this five stars for all the giggles and laughs.

Saran Sithambaram _aran_ithambaram — Although I read this many years ago, I have agreed with my ESL student that this would be enjoyable reading as our next project. I hope that we can finish this. It is long ! Our progress has been slow, in part because of unexpected interruptions. We have agreed that we will have to abandon this lovely book becase of its length and intervening personal matters.

Hope Reagan hopereagan — I found this incredibly profound the first time I read it. I read it again a year later, and thought it was corny. I'm just so damn jaded, you see.
