Roberto Cigala robertocigala — The first essays are mothers who really wanted girls or wanted their boys to be less boy-like (or more boy-like). Not much about the raising of sons but more about how their expectations of their children were not met. The later essays are about boys turning into teenagers which I'm not ready to face yet. I only read the first one, realizing I'd read later essays by same author and know her son-in-transition is now dead after falling in with the wrong crowd and developing a drug problem. Too sad to think about where kids may end up. I think I like my clueless parenting where I'm not sure what will happen next but it's all an adventure.

Yordan Silvera _ographic — My 6 year old son loved this book's short stories about the 7 Habits. The biggest benefit was I found myself using the habits to encourage him, like explaining when he was being proactive or we were synergizing (That is probably not a word. Oh well.) It just made me more aware. We'll probably buy it for our home library.

Katherine Simpson kathsimpson — this book is about a guy named Louie Banks. He has been on his high school football game (is now a senior). He strived all summer long to be able to make first string on his high school football team, and he achieved his goal. His coach told him and the entire football team to play dirty football against their opposing teams QB Washington and literally try to kill him, so they did and Louie hated it. When the other teams QB went to the hospital Louie went on a tirade on the football field, throwing helmets, and messing up anything he could. Soon after was kicked off the football team, suspended from school, and banned from all extra-curricular activities. Later, he finally got asked out by the girl he's liked for years named Becky. They started dating for about 5 years and she dies a tragic death in a car accident. Over all it was an awesome book and i loved it.
