Carole Guevin featuredby — I read this online at my own father's behest. The pencil illustrations are just lovely. The animals are clearly based on close observation (well, except the dragon, one must assume) and the boy is adorable. The story is fun- the boy packs the most unlikely things in his backpack, and the ways he is called upon to use them during his adventure are silly and hilarious. Delightful book.

Eric Syrdahl _urlyfry66 — I enjoyed this book--though I wouldn't say that it is necessarily one of her better books, I still liked it enough to finish it and would read the next one in her series. While I get that the author has a Russian missionary background, I feel sometimes that she goes a bit overboard on how she portrays Russians in America.

Emma Oboyle emmaoboyle — A great piece of YA historical fiction. I think it would make a great companion to Night by Elie Wiesel.

Eugenia Berenguer _umna85 — As much as I enjoyed 'Ravenous' it was just the appetizer for Bestial. What a great read. I so enjoy Garton's writing and his take on the supernatural. This book was less about the blood and gore and more about the story of what happens to Big Rock when it is invaded by werewolves. Loved the fact that some of the main characters from this book are the Private Investigators from 'Night Life' I am looking forward to more of their adventures in future books (at least that is where I hope that Garton is going with them.) Excellent read and highly recommended!
